Fabric/Full-Fabric Reinforced

As roof membranes like TPO age and deteriorate, they are prone to cracking, leakage, and accumulation of dirt. This, in turn, leads to a decline in their efficiency and energy-saving capabilities. However, Maverick Coatings offers solutions through Conklin's elastomeric coatings. Not only do these coatings repair and preserve approved membranes, but they also enhance energy savings in a cost-effective manner.
When it comes to EPDM, PVC, or other single-ply roofs, Maverick Coatings relies on the Conklin Membrane Coating System to rejuvenate them. Unlike traditional membranes, which are typically black in color and absorb the sun's heat, our coatings effectively mitigate expansion and contraction, reducing stress on the seams. By addressing this issue, we can prevent seam failure and the subsequent leaks that result from it.

Recommended for application over these membranes:

  • Aged TPO (Thermoplastice Olefin) membranes

  • Aged PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) membranes

  • CSPE (Chlorosulfonated Polyurethene) membranes

  • EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)

  • Modified Bitumen

Washing & Primer

The first step to a Fabric or Full-Fabric Reinforced starts with a coating of our WAC II roof cleaner. WAC II is a solution used specifically for membrane roofs like EPD because of the oils and heavy dirt they tend to have from the system itself or the old status of the roof. This is followed by thoroughly power-washing of every inch of the roof. After, our Conklin TACK COAT Primer is sprayed over the entirety of the roof. Tack Coat serves as the glue that holds to the roof and the coatings that will eventually be applied.

Spunflex Full-Fabric

After the Tack Coat is applied we then cover the entire roof with Spunflex Fabric & Benchmark Base Coat. This serves as a membrane of itself that covers every tear, hole, seam and compromise of the original system. The fabric and base coat provide a seamless-watertight finish that allows for shifts in the roof without giving up its integrity.

  • Full-Fabric systems can also be applied over your new foam system to enhance durability, provide you a better warranty and decrease heating and cooling costs.

Spunflex Fabric

After the Tack Coat is applied, we then cover all the seams and damaged areas with 5” Spunflex Fabric & Benchmark Base Coat. This serves as a membrane of itself that covers every tear, hole, seam and compromise of the original system. The fabric and base coat provide a seamless-watertight finish that allows for shifts in the roof without giving up its integrity.

  • Noticeably, our Spunflex fabric reinforced system doesn’t cover the entire roof like our Full-Fabric. However, this system still covers every seam and damaged area creating a watertight seamless roof.

Top Coat

Our Puma XL top coat is the finish to the entire process. PUMA XL is an advanced-technology premium polyurethane modified acrylic roof coating with a highly reflective bright white finish. It is designed as a two coat waterproofing application using Benchmark base coat.

What else can Fabric do?

Full-Fabric Reinforced is also popular over Spray Foam, ISO Board and OSB. Many times a roof has major flaws to its design where the roof ponds water, holds dirt and debris. Full-Fabric is a system that is an easy watertight application over an existing roof or roof that needs reconstructing. As you can see, this former EPD roof had major ponding issues and leaked as a result, but by applying OSB and our Full-Fabric Reinforced system, it no long ponds water and maintains the integrity of the roof. The system is great over foam as well. The Spunflex Fabric prolongs the integrity of the foam ensuring you a leak free roof for decades to come.

Benefits of Fabric Reinforced

  • Stops leaks with superior waterproofing.

  • Increases energy efficiency and lowers utility expense with its cool, white, reflective surface.

  • Extends the life of your existing roof.
